The family were using a number of different brokers to handle their insurance which was placed with many different insurers.

By consolidating much of the insurance with one global carrier we were able to negotiate overall savings whilst broadening the coverage provided. Aon’s significant global reach enabled us to further improve the client experience by providing regional servicing coordinated and managed by Aon’s Family Office in London.

Following a thorough review and consultation with the client’s representatives, we consolidated the private UK and US real estate, art, jewellery and motor fleet with one insurer, leveraging the combined premium to achieve coverage improvements and cost savings.

Renewal dates were synchronized to improve the administration burden within the client’s family office.

Specialist cover was put in place to meet the professional/legal requirements of the family office including commercial motor fleet cover and group travel and personal accident, which had previously not been purchased. Aon’s corporate team were brought in to review and manage the commercial insurances with the overall relationship remaining with Aon’s Family Office team in London.

Circa 25 policies in total looked after by multiple brokers/insurers.

Following a thorough risk audit and our subsequent appointment by the family, we consolidated the private real estate and art collection with one carrier producing significant savings.  The placements for the super yacht and aircraft were restructured, not only providing premium savings but also including automatic cover for things such as the principal’s high value artwork whilst being displayed on board.

Due to the significant size of the commercial portfolio we called upon the expertise of our specialist Real Estate team in London who were able to improve upon the existing terms for the client.

In this instance the client’s mandate included the wish that the overall relationship for both the commercial and private insurance remain with Aon’s Family Office team in London as they didn’t want to deal with different parts of the business.  Ultimately, our integrated approach to insurance portfolio management meant that we were able to meet the client’s expectations whilst reducing their administrative burden by cutting the policy count from 25 to 15.
